Peter Whatmore is the Senior Vice President, Managing Director, Broker of Record of CB Richard Ellis Southwestern Ontario.  Peter has been actively involved in major brokerage transactions throughout his 32-year career.
 
Peter has an extensive commercial real estate background, and has specialized in investment, retail development and industrial transactions across Southwestern Ontario throughout his career.  Peter opened the first commercial real estate office in London in 1979 that specialized exclusively in non-residential transactions.  Through various evolutions that office has today, become the largest commercial brokerage firm operating in the Southwestern Ontario Region.
 
Peter co-ordinates the efforts of CB Richard Ellis' Special Properties Group (SPG) throughout North America.  Special Properties Group is a niche-marketing group that specializes in the disposition of major industrial facilities in ex-urban markets, throughout Canada and the USA.

Professional Experience

In March of 1997, Peter was appointed by the Provincial Government to be a founding Director of the Real Estate Council of Ontario.  RECO (as it is known) is the newly formed Industry Self Management body, having responsibility for registration and management of the Industry in Ontario.  Peter currently serves as a Chair of Discipline Appeals at RECO.
 
Peter's sense of community has lead him to be a Director of the London and St. Thomas Real Estate Board and both the Ontario and Canadian Real Estate Associations.  Peter served as the National Chair of the IC & I Council of the Canadian Real Estate Association in 1996.  Peter is currently Vice Chair of SIOR Central Canadian Chapter.  Within London he has been actively involved in many charitable organizations including Chair of St. John Ambulance and President (1997-1999) of Parkwood Hospital Foundation.  Currently he serves on the Board of St. Joseph Health Care Foundation, Director of St. Joseph's Health Care Centre London and Chair of Realtors Care Foundation.
