Roles & Responsibilities
John manages all aspects of the business development for the Toronto North Office at CBRE Limited.
Professional Experience
John has been involved with commercial real estate for more than thirty years, both as a Broker and a Senior Manager.
As the Senior Managing Director, Business Development Suburban GTA of Brokerage, John is responsible for the business development activities for the suburban GTA areas.
Prior to this role with CBRE, John was responsible for one of the largest brokerage operations in Canada as the Senior Managing Director, Business Development Suburban GTA of Brokerage and was responsible for the business development activities in that area. John supervised a staff of more than 75 Sales Representatives with commercial real estate sales of more than half a billion dollars annually.
Prior to that role, John worked with the Matthews Group, a major Canadian property developer as Senor Vice President, Commercial & Investment. John was responsible for the Group's office, apartment, hotel and retail property investments in Canada and the United States. He was also a member of the Matthews Group team working on the privatization of Toronto's International Airport from 1987 to 1992.
John started his commercial real estate career in 1973 with A.E. LePage, specializing in office and industrial property sales and leasing in the GTA. Before joining A.E. LePage, he spent three years in residential real estate sales with Gibson Willoughby where, at the age of 20, he was the youngest, licensed real estate broker in the Province. He was responsible for establishing Gibson Willoughby's condominium division and supervised a staff of more than 20 brokers and sales representatives.
John works actively with a number of charities that have had a personal impact on himself and his family, supporting the Breakfast for Kids program and raising funds for breast cancer research. John is a passionate yachtsman and enjoys hunting, fishing and golf.
