The ChallengeRadioShack terminated a licensing agreement in Canada on June 30, 2005 and would be left with tremendous brand identity but no locations. RadioShack required an extremely aggressive rollout of its latest US concept in major Canadian markets before it lost brand recognition.
The SolutionRadioShack retained CB Richard Ellis’s Retail Tenant Group to provide a comprehensive analysis of major and secondary markets from coast to coast and to manage the rollout of 300 locations in three years. CB Richard Ellis and RadioShack hosted a very successful landlord event in Jacksonville, Florida to demonstrate the new concept.
CB Richard Ellis toured all the major markets with RadioShack after having put together tour packages in very short time frames.
The End ResultCB Richard Ellis and RadioShack are in active negotiations with Canada’s major developers for multiple locations, the first of which opened for the 2005 Christmas season.
