Toronto Life Sciences
Toronto is the third-largest office market in North America and the epicenter of the Ontario Life Sciences Corridor which is anchored by the MaRS Discovery District in downtown Toronto, “Pill Hill” in Mississauga and McMaster Innovation Park (MIP) in Hamilton. The Corridor contains the largest life sciences community in Canada and it is one of the largest clusters of biotech, medtech, health tech & life sciences companies in North America.
Montreal Life Sciences
With five R&D hubs that contain over 650 companies (56,000 jobs), the Montreal life sciences community is the 2nd largest life science cluster in Canada and it ranks as the 6th largest cluster in North America. 11 higher education institutions produce a talent pipeline of over 10,000 bilingual graduates in health-related programs each year and this human capital is complimented by low operating costs that continue to attract companies in pharma, biotech, medtech, artificial intelligence and digital health.
Vancouver Life Sciences
Located on Canada’s west coast and home to companies in bio-pharmaceuticals, medical technology, medical devices and digital health, Vancouver is a major North American gateway for the Far East and Pacific Rim. Fifty world-class research centres and universities in British Columbia and an established collaborative network for research have helped make Vancouver one of the leading destinations in the country for research and development in the life sciences sector.
Ottawa Life Sciences
Canada’s capital is home to the Federal Government’s health and life science-related departments, agencies and associated research facilities, two universities and six hospital research institutions. In addition, five of the top forty Canadian hospital research institutions and more than 134 companies in biotech, medtech and digital health employ over 6,200 people in the region, helping make Ottawa a centre for research and innovation in the Canadian life sciences sector.
Edmonton Life Sciences
With top-rate facilities, research and development institutions, government-backed initiatives and robust AI capabilities, the Edmonton Metropolitan Region hosts up to 60% of Alberta’s life science companies and contributes to 7.5% of the Region’s GDP. The Region is home to more than a dozen large pharmaceutical and medicine manufacturing firms and institutions, as well as The University of Alberta, which has one of the largest faculties of pharmacy in Canada and is known for its ability to transfer research into the marketplace. Edmonton's Internation Airport is the first airport in Canada to obtain CEIV certification for pharmaceutical handling through the International Air Transportation Association. This designation is an example of the coordinated effort in the region which positions Edmonton not only as a dominant player in research and development, but also large-scale manufacturing and distribution.
Meet the Team
Over the past 14 years of practicing real estate in the Greater Toronto Area, Daniel Lacey has worked on a vast array of complex transactions throughout a variety of asset classes. The most complex of all currently underway is Dan’s mission to grow the Life Sciences ecosystem in the Ontario Life Sciences corridor by bringing desperately needed commercial lab space to support the emerging industries growth in the region.
Dan is applying his in depth knowledge and experience in the real estate industry to both investors looking to make an entry into this rapidly advancing market as well as supporting the amazing founders of the bright ideas of tomorrow by passionately assisting them to find the lab space they need to grow into viable commercial businesses.
Since 2002, Jeremy Kenemy has completed over 1,000 transactions across North America, working with large Fortune 500 firms as well as local Quebec based SMEs. Jeremy focuses on office and laboratory occupiers and by employing real time market data, trend forecasting tools, strategic negotiation gambits, and his extensive network, Jeremy helps companies align their real estate strategies with their overall business objectives.
A graduate of Concordia University with a Bachelor of Science Degree, Jeremy has also achieved Coronet Global’s Master of Commercial Real Estate (MCR) designation and is a presenter and educator at industry real estate forums.

With the last 21 of his 27 years in commercial real estate being spent nearly exclusively in the technology sector, Kevin Nelson has had a front seat to, and a supporting role in Vancouver’s evolution to a global tech leader.
As part of his early experience to become a knowledge based leader in biotechnology, Kevin travelled to centers of excellence throughout North America to learn the inner workings of advanced research facilities. These efforts took him to San Francisco, San Diego, Los Angeles, Seattle, Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto, and gave him intimate knowledge of the most technical of technology real estate. For the past 20 years, Kevin has been applying this knowledge to assist Vancouver biotech companies and developers, in both securing premises and developing new biotechnology facilities. Assignments to date have totaled more than 1 million square feet for dozens of companies, and include sales, leasing, design builds, and building conversions.
Dominic Dostie and his team have an increasing focus on the life sciences sector in Ottawa and experience with acquisitions, dispositions, renewals and expansions for companies in this sector.
For the past 12 years Mark Anderson has worked as a specialist in the Edmonton Office market advising clients ranging from large multinational corporations to local tech start-ups. Mark’s aptitude in working with technology and life sciences companies is much more than just a professional interest; Mark holds a bachelor of Science from the University of Alberta with a double major in chemistry and biological sciences and a personal focus in pharmacology.
