       Calgary's retail sector is experiencing strong demand as vacancy rates decrease for the third consecutive half-year period.

       Many new groups have opened in Calgary, including Firehouse Subs, Chipotle, Ribeye, Bath Depot, Chick-fil-A, Mr. Puffs, YETI, Brooklyn Dumpling, and Crumbl Cookies.

       There is very high demand for daycares, and an increase in demand for medical services in Calgary; this is driven by the city's growing population.

       The Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) sector continues to experience strong demand, as consumers seek convenient and affordable dining options. Local groups continue to compete with the new brands looking for growth throughout the city.

       The leasing process is taking longer, many parties are running at or near full capacity. Businesses must now anticipate longer than usual time to lease and open the location.

       Alberta offers a unique advantage for retail businesses, boasting the lowest corporate tax rate in the country, coupled with affordable housing, making it an attractive destination for growing retail businesses.
