– Starting off 2025, Ottawa recorded a rise in sublease vacancy, which has increased by 42,000 sq. ft quarter-over-quarter from 555,000 sq. ft. to 597,000 sq. ft.
– The Central Business District (CBD) saw sublease space increase by 2,000 sq. ft. to 263,000 sq. ft. This movement was predominantly due to a couple of new sublistings at World Exchange Plaza, totaling 8,200 sq. ft.
– Driven primarily by new sublistings at 340 Terry Fox Drive, Kanata's sublease vacancy increased by 41,000 sq. ft. quarter-over-quarter, totaling 134,000 sq. ft.
– Ottawa has continued to outperform the national average and larger Canadian cities, with sublease vacancies representing only 1.5% of the total inventory.
