CBRE Completes Registration as a ZEB Planner — Strengthening Support for Environmentally Conscious Building Planning Toward a Sustainable Built Environment
~ Supporting the acceleration of the shift to ZEB standards by 2030 ~
January 23, 2026
ZEB refers to a building concept aimed at significantly reducing annual primary energy consumption while maintaining a comfortable indoor environment, ultimately achieving net-zero energy use. Leveraging its extensive real estate expertise and integrating services across the company, CBRE will further enhance its support for planning energy-efficient and low-carbon buildings across a wide range of sectors, including offices, logistics facilities, retail properties, hotels, factories, and data centers.
Scope of CBRE’s ZEB-Related Services
CBRE offers consulting services to support ZEB implementation in the following areas:
◆Development & Operations
CBRE provides consulting on ZEB specifications during the development stage as well as strategies for enhancing asset value through ZEB conversion of existing properties. These services help maximize long-term returns and improve ESG and sustainability performance.
◆Corporate-Owned Assets
ZEB specifications contribute not only to reducing operational costs through lower energy use and GHG emissions but also to advancing decarbonization efforts aligned with TCFD and CDP disclosure frameworks. CBRE supports companies in enhancing their sustainability evaluations through these initiatives.
CBRE aims to ensure that more than 50% of all energy‑saving planning consulting engagements we secure in FY2026 are related to ZEB. Through these efforts, the company will continue to support clients’ ESG and sustainability strategies and contribute to the realization of a sustainable society.
