Alex Edmison is one of Canada’s foremost retail real estate leaders. He simultaneously holds the position of Senior Vice President on CBRE’s Urban Retail Team, while also acting as CBRE’s Mixed-Use Retail Practice Lead.
The Urban Retail Team specializes in the sale and leasing of high street retail and mixed-use properties in downtown Toronto. During his 15-year career, Alex has leased over 3.0 million sq. ft. of space for a total consideration over $1.4 billion and has sold over $300.0 million of commercial property.
Alex helps clients achieve the full potential of their real estate by leveraging his experience with landmark projects and business decisions during Toronto’s rapid intensification. With his support, the Urban Retail Team have become industry leaders in curating and leasing large mixed-use projects. Notable assignments include the retail component of The Well, a 3.1 million sq. ft. retail/office/residential redevelopment located at Front Street W and Spadina Avenue.
Alex is driven to continuously elevate retail and mixed-use real estate services in Canada. He utilizes data, creative thinking and his extensive network to help colleagues win new business, hone their skills and create better outcomes for CBRE clients.
Alex joined CBRE in 2006 and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Queen’s University.
