Gary Touyz is a dual-qualified Chartered Surveyor and Professional Appraiser with a specialized focus on the seniors housing sector across Canada. His practice encompasses valuation, appraisal, feasibility analysis, and strategic advisory services for investors, operators, lenders, and developers.
Gary has worked in commercial real estate since 2007 and has specialized in seniors housing since 2014. He brings extensive technical expertise in preparing valuations in accordance with CUSPAP, IVS, and the RICS Red Book. His experience includes valuations for financing, development, risk analysis, initial public offerings, fund valuations, acquisitions and dispositions, litigation support, and financial reporting. He has advised many of the world's leading institutional investors and capital providers on seniors housing assets and portfolios across North American and European markets.
Within the seniors housing sector, Gary has authored and reviewed articles for peer-reviewed journals, contributed to expert working groups, spoken at industry conferences, and provided expert witness testimony in high-value litigation matters. He also serves on the RICS Global Editorial Advisory Board for Seniors Housing, helping to shape industry insights and professional standards internationally.
