Jennifer Smith

Jennifer Smith has spent her entire career working in the housing finance system, having spent the vast majority working for Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) in both the Homeowner and Multi-family sectors of the mortgage loan insurance sector.  Most recently, she spent more than a decade working in partnership with lenders on multi-family housing solutions, where she has underwritten mortgage loan insurance applications with increasing complexity across all shelter models in the housing continuum, and has a keen interest in the affordable housing market and solutions therein.  She has a strong understanding of risk and credit analysis, honed through years of experience in evaluating financial metrics, understanding market dynamics, and ensuring appropriate adherence to policy that contributes to the financial stability of the housing system.  She fosters a client-centric approach to relationships, built on transparency, trust, mutual understanding and respect, and works diligently to find solutions that respect the risk appetite of all stakeholders.
