Robert Pavlovsky is a Debt & Structured Finance Associate in CBRE Capital's Debt & Structured Finance group as a mortgage specialist and generalist, with a strong suit in corporate finance, financial analysis, and accounting. Prior to joining CBRE, Robert worked as an Origination Analyst at a boutique investment bank specializing in mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and venture debt. There he originated over $250M in M&A and venture debt opportunities. Before that, Robert worked as an accountant with a globally recognized fund manager where he liaised with multi-billion-dollar hedge and private equity funds.

Robert can effectively analyze and determine a company’s financial viability from an operating and cashflow standpoint in order to creatively yield a desired outcome for his clients.

Debt & Structured Finance Expertise

Prior to working at CBRE’s Debt and Structured Finance division, Robert gained valuable credit exposure by working at a Toronto-based boutique investment bank that specialized in the purchase and sale of Canadian mid-market owner-operated businesses. There he sourced opportunities targeting profitable, asset-light startups, primarily within the tech sector. In this role Robert spent his time underwriting credit deals, presenting them to the investment bank’s credit and investment committees, to eventual funding.

At CBRE, Robert has been able to utilize his previous investment banking and credit experience to help place financing for mid-market businesses based within the GTA. Financing placements include 1stmortgage loans on industrial buildings, land financings, development & construction finance, as well as merger and acquisition financing. Industry exposure has mainly been in the transportation & logistics industry, light manufacturing, residential development, and land.
