CBRE Reconciliation Action Plan Gets a Refresh
July 28, 2026
CBRE has made progress in embedding Reconciliation into priorities across its Canadian operations and the company remains committed to making progress on this important work.
The release of a refreshed Reconciliation Action Plan offers the chance to reflect on the engagement, listening and learning that have taken place since the original plan was launched in 2022, and renew commitments to advance reconciliation.
The goal remains to deepen relationships and direct engagement with Indigenous clients and communities, creating opportunities and fostering meaningful change.
In 2020, CBRE’s Global Workplace Solutions (GWS) business unit engaged Creative Fire to support the development of its inaugural Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). Released in 2022, the RAP set out specific commitments and actions designed to initiate a Reconciliation journey.
RAP implementation highlights to date include:
- Team established to lead and champion Reconciliation strategies and actions.
- Reconciliation messaging embedded within broader strategy, supported by accountable leadership and clear communication channels.
- Internal policies updated to better reflect and support Indigenous Peoples, alongside proactive efforts to attract Indigenous talent.
- Tools and training provided to support employees in their personal and professional Reconciliation journeys.
- Indigenous supplier base expanded through targeted outreach and onboarding efforts.
CBRE’s updated RAP builds on the foundation of the initial plan and expands the scope to include all CBRE lines of business in Canada and establishes a refreshed set of commitments and targets. These include:
- Encouraging active participation in the Reconciliation journey by engaging employees in learning, dialogue, and community collaboration.
- Educating and empowering the workforce by increasing Indigenous cultural awareness and understanding of historical and contemporary issues through learning opportunities and cultural events.
- Building meaningful relationships with Indigenous peoples and communities founded on trust, respect, and shared goals.
- Expanded engagement with Indigenous communities to explore future collaboration and employment opportunities.
- Advancing Indigenous economic inclusion by promoting supply chain diversity and creating opportunities for Indigenous-owned businesses.
CBRE is committed to fostering positive Indigenous relations, recognizing the importance of building strong, respectful, and mutually beneficial partnerships with Indigenous communities and businesses.
Our journey is guided by CBRE’s core RISE values: Respect, Integrity, Service and Excellence. As we continue to advance our Indigenous Reconciliation efforts, we are dedicated to driving impactful change.
