CBRE Finds a Facility for Homegrown Vancouver Clean Tech Firm
September 29, 2026 3 Minute Read
CBRE’s High Technology Facilities Group recently secured a 17,000 sq. ft. mixed-use facility for pH7 Technologies, a Vancouver-based clean technology company specializing in the metallurgical extraction of critical and precious metals.
The deal was led by Andre Alie Day, Blair Quinn, Nico Gri Quinn and Alain Rivère, starting two years ago in an effort to consolidate multiple facilities into one.
“pH7 Technologies is a well-recognized, homegrown B.C. tech company that is expanding its global presence in the critical metals industry.” says Alie Day. “Its new facility will support the company's continued growth, collaboration and commercial operations.”
The new facility will bring several of pH7's existing operations together, integrating office, laboratory and supporting industrial spaces to strengthen collaboration and support future growth.
The Perfect Fit
Finding the perfect spot for pH7 Technologies proved to be a challenge.
The company not only required a location that would have industrial, office and warehouse space, but also transit access and amenities for staff.
“We were essentially looking for a single building with three different asset classes built in,” says Alie Day. “Checking off all those boxes was not an easy undertaking.”
Many industrial locations that fit the bill were located well outside of Vancouver, making transit access a major issue.
Ultimately a brand-new building at 1313 E. Pender St. in Vancouver’s Strathcona market ended up being the perfect fit, an accessible location with a rooftop patio, gym, freight elevator access and ample parking space.
“The entire team now has access to a brand-new facility under one roof, allowing for more synergy and corporate collaboration,” says Ali Day. “That’s the real benefit: putting the different divisions in the same place so they can all work cohesively together as opposed to being in different cores at different buildings.”
Clean Tech Loves Vancouver
Vancouver is home to many homegrown clean tech companies, with over 260 such businesses as of 2025, making the city a magnet for innovative firms tackling climate change.
Earlier this year Alie Day and his team secured a 55,000 sq. ft. facility for Oxygen8, which was dubbed the fastest-growing company in B.C. between 2020 and 2024.
Last June, Moment Energy, a cleantech company that repurposes electric vehicle batteries into commercial-scale battery energy storage systems, opened the world’s largest EV battery repurposing facility in Vancouver.
“We have a very entrepreneurial and driven business community here in B.C.,” says Alie Day. “Many founders are committed to growing their business here because it’s an amazing place to work and find talent.”
Alie Day, a broker who works closely with clean tech and specialized technology companies in B.C., is inspired by their successes.
“I find it fascinating to learn more about the technologies and the businesses that people in our city have created and grown,” he says. “It’s satisfying to know that I can play a small part in helping them reach their business goals by optimizing real estate for not only today, but also the future.”
“I’m proud to be a part of that story.”
